This wont cover depth, just starters.

With all the recent talk that the top two teams dont want to break the bank on the first two overall picks possibly a trade is in the making but with who? Well why not us? I know its a reach so here are a few reasons I think we can pull this out our ass.

1. We have the firepower who already know Spags system. And with new ownership Daveany and Spags have a lot to prove.

2. To be honest after the Jets pulled that off for Sanchez I'm not doubting anything this year.

3. Without a CBA this will restrict a lot of the less fortunate teams. I think its safe to say the rams and lions fall under that category.

4. Connections.

Our Offer: Osi, Cofield, our 1st and 3rd for the 1st overall. Sounds fair, right? Possibly sub that 3rd with a WR or LB? Hixon or Kehl? Maybe Ross?

Draft Suh. Maybe a hefty price tag for one player but anyone who has seen him play would disagree and throw their own mother in just to sweeten the deal (at least I know I would).

Now the next hole to fill is MLB. We can draft, sign or trade. . . I choose Trade. A.J. Hawk has slipped the last few years struggling in the 3-4. They signed Chillar to a big contract and have Burnett and a high draft prospect in Bishop. Loaded at the position and looking to improve at other positions they are looking to ship Hawk outta GB.

They need oline, RB, and S help. Obviously we cant help at safety but Oline we can. Although Im still against moving Diehl to LG but that could work assuming Beatty is ready to start at LT. We can then ship Seubert and a late round pick for Hawk. Sorta like a madden trade until you look deeper. Hawk is due 4.6m in salary next season and 10m the following year. They will either cut him or be forced to pay him.

Safety is the only other major position of need. I'd like Chad Jones of LSU in the 2nd but we could find a one year fix with either Jermaine Phillips, Darren Sharper, or Sean Jones in FA.

Possible line up

Q- ELi
RB- Jacobs, Bradshaw
FB- Hedgecock
TE- Boss
LT- Beatty
LG- Diehl
C- O'Hara
RG- Snee
RT- McKenzie
WR- Smith, Nicks, Manningham

DE-Tuck, Kiwi
DT- Canty, Suh, Alford
LB- Sintim, Hawk, Boley
CB- Webster, Thomas, Ross
S- Phillips, Chad Jones

Interesting thoughts

Making a play for Suh would be a huge move, but he is certainly a stud talent.

I don't think it would cost that much to do it either

out 1st and Osi would probably be enough, throw in Sinorice Moss, Gerris Wilkinson

I don't think the Packers would trade Hawk for Seubert, I think he would cost at least a 3rd. Although I do like the idea of trading for a MLB and AJ Hawk would be a good fit.

I actually looked into it a lil and the packer fans want seubert. Hes a Wisconsin native and they desperately need oline help.

Suh would be a huge talent to fill in at DT.
That would be a ton to give up for him though and leaves us with limited depth experience imo.

Signing Hawks is something I'm a big fan of. I think Hawks could be a real good mlb in the 4-3

I'd also sign Darren Sharper in a heartbeat. If Kenny Phillips comes back healthy that would be a dangerous tandem.

Well say we give up Our 1st, Osi, Cofield, and Hixon for the Rams number 1. We take Suh that leaves us with the rest of our draft to work on depth. We wont need a MLB because of the Hawk trade. We could sign a FA stop gap at S like Sharper or Phillips or break the bank on Rolle if released. We wont need any starters with picks 2-7. We could work on oline depth and dline depth. We are pretty much set every where else.

I'm really not a fan of getting rid of Osi at this point.

That leaves us with Tollefson as our only other speed-type rusher on the end if Tuck or Kiwi goes down.
We have Sintim that may be able to fill that role unless he gets a spot at backer.

It's a tough call for me
