rite now the gmen have the Unique Oppertuntity, to domminate on deff, and off. Just because of our line- men on both sides . With just need a few additional players here and there on both sides. the deff has for the most part been addressed. although i would like to see kehl step up this year. our off line is one of the best in the league. we just need one or two more key people ( cough cough reciever). so do we package picks for an established no1 wideout or do we package picks to move up in the draft for a future superstar that can help out rite now . IE crabtree who is probably the only one...

Burress..... a million dolllar talent with a two dollar brain..see ya!!! I am on pins and needles waiting to see what the GM does next... who by the way I think is the best GM in the NFL and a great draft day guru. I am surprised they have no interest in Tory Holt... I thought he would be a great mentor to all the young WR the Giants already have and any drafted. If the Giants get Nicks in the first I hope they move up in the second to get Britt or Robiske... we would have a great pair of bookends for years to come ..maybe

Here are my current thoughts on what I would consider next offseason for the 2009 Giants.

All draft picks are based on draft order as after week 13*

Whilst Burress is a genuine talent, I believe things have a gone beyond the point of no return. I would trade Burress, most likely for a third round pick; several teams would be interested including Tampa Bay, New Orleans, but I think an AFC team would be preferred perhaps Oakland (#70).

Burress’s contract is reportedly structured so that it will have little impact on the Giants salary cap.

It will be interesting...

I think officiating has been horrendous this year. I do not blame the officials. I think the NFL needs to revamp their rules.

Here is what I posted on my Giants blog.

After watching the ending of the Pittsburgh vs San Diego contest, I think the NFL must streamline their rules. I think it is nonsense to think the game was fixed. Moreover, I do not blame the officials. If one looks at the big picture, the NFL must vet their rules. Once the rules are vetted, the rules must be clear and concise. Therefore, there should be no room for interpretation. Each year, the NFL makes changes...

The Giants haven't led the NFL in points scored since 1963. But with 292 points scored through 10 games, that's exactly what they're on pace to do this season. Here's a link to a new blog that attempts to put the potential feat into an historical context.

Enjoy.

When the Giants have the ball, I think the match up to watch: the Giants interior line versus Steelers' NT Casey Hampton. In the past, the Giants offensive line has struggled blocking behemoth defensive tackles. Recall, they had difficulty with Patriots' NT Vince Wilfork, Browns NT Shaun Rogers, Jets NT Kris Jenkins.

I think if the Giants can move Hampton, they will have success running the ball against the number one defense in the NFL. Being able to establish the run, this will open up the passing game. Unfortunately, in their last two games, they have not been able to get into...

I started looking at how the NFL is shaping up this year.

One thing I realised is alot of the poorer performing teams from last year have done should be alot better in 2008. I expect that alot of the divisions will be extremely close again this year. Here are my early season predictions for 2008.

NFC East
  • New York Giants 10-6
  • Dallas 10-6
  • Philadelphia 9-7
  • Washington 8-8

NFC North
  • Minnesota 10-6
  • Green Bay 9-7
  • Detroit...

It is slow in the football world, so just for fun, I started to have a look at the possible Giants roster for 2009 and what kind of moves I would make if I were GM

  • I expect that Jacobs will be signed to a contract extention in the near future.
  • I expect that new deals will be done for Plaxico and Osi either this year or next.

JUNE 25, 2008

LB Bryan Kehl was signed by the Giants as a fourth round pick out of BYU. At 6’2, 242 lbs, Kehl provides Big Blue with a young, versatile linebacker with great speed and productivity at the college level. Kehl was a standout both on and off the field starting as a freshman before eventually become a four-year starter at BYU. Kehl, an Academic All-American, brings both mental and physical toughness...
