Wade Phillips fired
Not a big surprise here considering the cowboys decline.
The cowboys offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett will take over for Phillips.

This is a move that had to happen, the coach had lost their players.
I don't think Garrett is the answer though in this situation, I thought their Dline coach Paul Pasqualoni was the best among the options they had.

Garrett should have been fired as well. Ray Sherman should have been named HC/OC and Pasqualoni or Campo named DC. What a disappointing season for them.

Totally agree Garrett should have gone as well.
Campo is hardly the guy for the job in this situation.

I'll put my money on Gruden as the Cowboys next coach. Fewell or possibly Singletary if he is fired for the Rooney rule.

Gruden would be good for the cowboys. A fiery guy like Gruden will make for good stories in the nfc east

My money is on Bill Bellichek as HC and Marvin Lewis as DC.
Gruden is certainly in the mix and would do really well with those offensively

Plenty of candidates will emerge for Cowboys job
Posted by Mike Florio on November 9, 2010 5:51 PM ET
As Cowboys owner Jerry Jones commences the process of drawing up a list of candidates for the head coaching job in 2011, several obvious names have emerged.
Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com has listed ten of them: John Fox, Jason Garrett, Jim Harbaugh, Jon Gruden, Mike Zimmer, Brian Schottenheimer, Bill Cowher, Rob Ryan, and Tony Dungy.
The final decision will depend in large part on the extent to which Jones is willing to give up part or all of his control over the football operations. Guys like Cowher and Gruden would want to run the show -- as would Browns president Mike Holmgren, whose lingering desire to coach could put him into the mix.
If Jones decides that his team has the talent but merely needs an enema of accountability, why not Rob Ryan? The equally brash identical twin of Jets coach Rex Ryan is a 10-gallon hat away from looking just like a cowboy, and if Jones wants to stick with the 3-4 defense Rob Ryan would make plenty of sense.
Either way, Jones will have plenty of options. The ultimate answer will depend on his willingness to step aside and let the trained professionals run the team.
