Giants vs Packers Gameday

Post  56 Crazed Dogs on Sun Dec 26, 2010 9:48 am

Giants (9-5) in Green Bay (8-6) @ 4:15 est. mostly cloudy 25 degrees slight chance of snow.

What it means.
Both teams need a win. If Giants win then they make the playoffs. Packers must win this week and next week to get in.

Giants have the ability to rush he ball with AB and BJ, and should do so heavily.
Packers rushing game is somewhat stagnant with really only Brandon Jackson to rely on.
Giants defense needs to contain their lanes and keep an eye on Rodgers who will take off for a first down when he sees an opening.

Manning has to stay away from forcing throws. Just stay productive and let the pass plays come to him when they are there. Throw it out of bound if he has too, just don't force it.

Stack the O-line. The Giants lineman are mostly healthy and pretty darn good.
Get Shawn Andrews invoved once again and get a pair of tight ends on the field from time to time. Someone will get open enough to move the chains.

Lastly, match-up to watch for.
Kareem McKenzie vs Clay Mathews.
Mathews is a beast and McKenzie is having one of his best nfl seasons so far. But, do whatever it takes, double or triple team Clay if you have to but don't let him get loose.
This is a sold out angry stadium who hasn't forgotten their last playoff loss against the Giants in '07. Mathews is the sparkplug that makes those cheeseheads go crazy.

What I really find frustrating is that I think this team has the talent, but we are under-performing big time.
