Eli Manning turns 30 next week.

If there is a quality QB prospect available in the draft (possibly Jake Locker), should we consider drafting them?

It would allow us a couple of years to develop the QB behind Eli and also puts some pressure on Eli to produce results.

I hate to say it but we are stuck with Eli for the next 3 years at least. I don't see us drafting one early until next years draft maybe at the earliest. I like Lockers potential but he'll go to a team thats in more need then we are and get selected a lot earlier than we are willing to pick one.

I don't think so either, but it is worth playing devil's advocate.

Some think at this point Locker could slip (much like Brady Quinn or Aaron Rogers).

It all depends if Locker is rated by the scouts as an Elite franchise QB and whether you consider Eli to be an Elite NFL QB or a good NFL QB.

Either way I think it is unlikely, but considering Eli is now 30, a QB will be groomed in the next 2-3 of years.

I agree, Locker is more of a late first round pick but we have no business drafting one in the first round unless we plan on moving Eli with in the next 1 or 2 years. A qb with in the first 3 rounds is a definite possibility.

*Side note: Based on Eli's play we should be looking for a starting QB. Based on Eli's contract we shouldn't.

Eli is here for the rest of his career and Rosenfels is a decent back-up. Giants carry only 2 qb's on game day anyways. No rookie will likely beat out them two.
Although I know very little about Locker but have heard good things.
Also, I don't think Eli needs a rookie to motivate him. He'll correct a lot of his flaws by next season.

Eli shouldn't be having these kind of issues at this stage of his career, he has regresses big time.

Part of that I put on Eli and part I put on the Coaches (Coughlin, Gilbride and Sullivan)
