Coughlin on Shane Olivea
An interesting look at the Giants view of Olivea

*Coughlin was asked how much of a risk the Giants took by signing offensive lineman Shane Olivea, who played four seasons with the San Diego Chargers. Olivea was suspended last month for four games for violations of the NFL Substance Abuse Policy but was soon reinstated.
“Here is what we did,” Coughlin said. “We have been kind of researching this for quite a while; (assistant general manager) Kevin Abrams has looked into this for quite some time. We worked him out the other day, he is in outstanding shape, and he is very hungry, very anxious to play. I think there is some pride involved. There is definitely some motivation there.”
Olivea, 26, started 57 of 60 games over four seasons with the Chargers, who selected him on the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

This guy has come to play; I think he could give Seubert and McKenzie some tough competition.
