The Oline would be the biggest question mark. In the scenario if O'Hara is unable to return we would need to bring in a capable center to compete with Seubert. The possible lines we could have just adding Incognito to the mix:

Diehl, Seubert, Incognito, Snee, McKenzie
Diehl, Incognito, Seubert, Snee, McKenzie
Beatty, Diehl, Seubert/Incognito, Snee, Mckenzie
Andrews, Diehl, Seubert/Incognito, Snee, McKenzie

I decided against drafting a OT because I picked up Andrews option.

I have a very dissapointing feeling that Andrews won't play another meaningful game again due to his back problems.
I hope I'm wrong on this though.

I wouldn't say that at all. I am sure he will contribute, the question is how much.

The other thing to remember is that it is Andrews' first season back, plus he has a whole offseason for the medical staff to work on it.

I am hopefull Andrews' back will be ok and that he can start 10+ games at LT. However I also think it is a risk and may be the kind of injury that can flare up at any time.

We know that Andrews is a probowel calibre player, but we also know there is a good chance his injury will impact his playing time. It all depends on the medical staff, but I for one am remaining very hopefull

Either way he is worth picking up the option on, he is good value with no risk.

maybe Pete. I hope so but Andrews story sounds all too familiar to me.
My wife has been going through nearly the same type of problems with multiple back surgeries and little success. A lot of medication and nothing but constant pain.

I could live with that trade Vin.
Would love to have Ngata on the Giants. That's a big time upgrade to the defensive line and will make the linebackers jobs a lot easier.

Losing Manningham would kind of suck but we do have some depth at wr. Hixon is a decent 3rd and Cruz has big potential.

Sure I do understand back pain.

But Sports medicine is improving, it wasn't that long ago that microfracture surgery or a lis franc injury was career ending.

I am cautiously optimistic that he can contribute this year. The real question is how much.

One thing two remember is that four of our top 5 receivers are coming of injury - Nicks, Smith, Barden and Hixon, 3 of which were serious injuries on IR.

Also Smith is having microfracture surgery, so he is likely going to take a bit of time to recover. There is a good chance he will be limited to some degree this season.

But having said that, I am open to the idea of trading Manningham, it could be a good chance to get value (maybe 2nd round?) for him and upgrade other positions. Otherwise I could see him being in a similar situation next year to what Cofield is now.

Yea and i mean lets face it, the likely hood of us ever pulling off this trade is slim to none but it goes to show if we took a more aggressive approach to FA with the willingness to sacrifice some picks and a few vet players we could stack our team. Adding Ngata would be huge. Imagine a front Defense consisting of this:

Tuck, Osi, JPP at DE
Ngata, Canty, Joseph at DT
Boley, Jackson, Burnett at LB
Webster, Thomas, Ross at CB
Rolle, Phillips at S

Thats easily the best defense in football, a super bowl winning defense, a Giant defense. Very Happy

As far as WR, yea losing Manningham sucks because of his ability to stretch the field but Hixon, Barden, and Cruz could all do that. Plus Cecil Shorts is one of my favorite prospects. Also, getting a better receiving TE like Daniels would help Eli. Daniels is much like Beckum so if he were to go down to injury we would be able to implement the same offense to incorporate the TE unlike what we could do this past year. Our Offense won't miss a beat.

I would be ok with Burnett and Jackson at LB

though personally I would prefer Pozlunszy or McIntosh and Ruud.

I do think we need to add two LBs in free agency if possible.

Yea well Poz and Ruud are a step or two better than Burnett and Jackson but they fit my plan better considering the contract we would be giving Ngata.

But if we happen to get Burnett and Jackson in reality without Ngata I'd be very happy. I think Burnett is one of the most under rated LBs in the league. He is excellent in coverage. I also think Jackson would be a very good fit in our defense. My concern with Jackson is his ability to stay healthy but with that I think we can get him a bit cheaper than others available while gambling a bit but still have Goff as a back up.

I think Poz and Ruud are already very experienced in similar systems, so they could slot right in.

I am not sure on Burnett, but that could be becasue he wasn't a good fit with Dallas' system. At the very least he would be good value.

I agree with you about D'Qwell Jackson, he is a guy I do like, but hasn't been able to stay on the field.

Thinking on Haloti Ngata a little more.

He would be awesome, but I don't think the Ravens would make a trade for him. It is more likely to simply pay the two first round picks as compensation.

Two 1st round picks and a big contract is a huge investment, but with someone like Haloti it would be well worth it.

In order to get Ngata we would have to blow them outta the water with a huge contract they couldnt match or make a trade and give a little more than two 1sr round picks. If I'm them I'm taking the trade and getting four potential starters instead of just two.
