Bradshaw's value Empty Bradshaw's value

Leon Washington has signed his long term deal. I would imagine that Bradshaw will have similar value.

From Adam Shefter:

The contract is worth about $12.5 million and could max out at $16 million, and it includes $3.5 million in guaranteed money.

So that makes it a 4 year $16m deal with $3.5m guaranteed. I think Bradshaw's value is similar and that is quite reasonable.

I think if you asked Bradshaw what his value is he'd say a lot higher. I think he thinks he's somewhere near Jacobs money. That was a 4 year 25 mil deal.

That will be a problem, but I don't see it being that high, the draft class is very deep and there are plenty of FA RBs.

Also note the Giants only have him the $1.8m 2nd round RFA tender (which may be meaningless), when they could have locked him up with a 1st ($2.7m) or 1st and 3rd ($3.3m).

You would have to imagine Bradshaw's next deal on the open market would be more than the top tender value.

I don't see it being that high either but I think he thinks he's worth that much because of that quote where he stated he doesn't think the Giants could afford both him and Jacobs.

That tender may very well be meaningless like you said because of the current situation of the CBA but it could also be that we trying to bait a team in to giving a 2nd round pick for him, as well as Cofield, Smith, Boss, and Kiwi. Outta the 5 we can't afford to lose only one of those guys and thats Steve Smith.

You could be right about baiting for picks, there are a few guys I could see people giving up picks for.

I could see a WR needy team willing to give a 2nd for Smith. Imagine how we would be on a playoff team like NE, NYJ, KC or a team like STL.

A 2nd for Smith would be a steal. He's one of the best route runners in football. I hope we don't lose him for that. Nicks and Smith could be a potent future at WR for us.

I could see Cofield going for a 2nd. Although the Saints just signed Rogers they were the team interested in dealing a 2nd last year. This is a top heavy class at DT so a team looking to go another way in the first could look to trade their 2nd for cofield.

A 2nd for Kiwi is a good deal as well.

Kiwanuka got an "original round" tender, which means a 1st compensation.

I think teams like NE, NYJ or even Indy could opt for a proven guy like Cofield rather than rolling the dice in the draft.

(9:29 UPDATE Need to clarify something: Kiwanuka received an original-round tender - i.e. a first-rounder - but in effect it's a second-rounder because that's the compensation level. To get a first-rounder back, the Giants would have had to give him the first-round tender, which comes with a higher salary.)

Per Garafolo

I agree though, Cofield could be intriguing to quite a few teams. Although my fingers are crossed for a new CBA to be worked out.

Nice pickup

I could see any of Kiwi, Smith, Boss, Cofield and Bradshaw generating interest from other teams.

Smith and Cofield are the most likely.

The Giants can't afford to lose Steve Smith. They might have to overpay him a little to stay but oh well.
Then again, maybe not have to overpay since Smith is coming off from an injury.

In other news. Ware just received a 2 year contract extension from the giants. 2 years and up to 2 million.
I'm not a huge Ware fan but think he can be useful if the Giants use him sparingly. Give him 5-6 carries a game to give AB and BJ a breather.

The Giants aren't going to overpay to keep Smith, that is clear.

We could have locked him up with a 1st and 3rd RFA tender which would be around $3.2m or so - less than his next deal will be.

The only reason is to think the Giants don't believe he is worth that much.
