Ahmad Bradshaw / RB News
Per Schefter, we are working to resign Bradshaw. Miami has interest in Marion Barber. Denver looking at McGahee.
Earlier rumors were swirling about us looking at Ronnie Brown but I couldn't find anything solid.

He wants to remain in Carolina and the Panthers want him back. Denver and Miami have supposedly poked around but I don't have anything solid on that.
Update: It looks like its down to Carolina and Denver but its still early so you never know.

That would be sweet if we can re-sign Bradshaw. Maybe that's why we are cutting all the loose threads on this team to save money for AB.... or even Kevin Boss too.

Saw on espn.com, apparently we are interested in DeAngelo Williams too.

Re: Ahmad Bradshaw / RB News
Lombardi said almost 2 hours ago we entered the DeAngelo race but I can't tell if its his opinion or actual fact. Espn.com could be playing off that. Take it for what its worth.
We might have just called about a price. Supposedly Denver wants him bad and I hope we stay outta bidding wars for RBs.
Ronnie Browns name is getting tossed around a lot as a plan B to Bradshaw.
Just a theory off of the timeline here. We offered Bradshaw a contract to make it look like we are serious to bring him back. Jacobs said he would restructure for his little brother, Bradshaw, to return. Jacobs was in the building a little bit ago I imagined he restructured his contract in hopes to bring back Bradshaw but the FO may have no intentions on bringing Bradshaw back at his price demands. So in short, they could be playing Jacobs so he restructures.

DeAngelo will stay in Carolina. I don't think we were ever seriously interested. Probably just price checking.
Edit: And that price is high. Wow. 5 year 40 mil, 13 signing, and 19 guaranteed. Thats gonna make Bradshaw an expensive man. If his price gets that high... Let. Him. Go.

I'd like to see the Giants get in that mix for Bush. I'd consider a trade. Other wise go cheap and sign a vet like Ronnie Brown.

Giants | Ahmad Bradshaw may be looking for big money
Thu, 28 Jul 2011 01:07:18 -0700
Unrestricted free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Giants) is likely to seek a contract similar to what the Carolina Panthers paid RB DeAngelo Williams ($43 million over five years). It still is not clear if he will return to the New York Giants, who may not have the necessary space under the salary cap to afford such a contract.

Dolphins' trade for Reggie Bush makes Ahmad Bradshaw's return to Giants seem likely

Okay, so maybe Ahmad Bradshaw was holding two pair. We'll give him that much.
The only problem is he was representing a flush. And he just got called.
The free-agent running back has been pumping up the Dolphins as a worthy suitor for his services after four seasons with the Giants. He was talking about Miami since before the start of free agency and yesterday indicated to The Miami Herald it was a neck-and-neck race between the Giants and Dolphins.
But right around that time, perhaps unbeknownst to Bradshaw, the Dolphins were working out a trade with the Saints for Reggie Bush. FOX's Jay Glazer first reported the parameters of the deal were in place and this morning ESPN's Adam Schefter said Bush agreed to a new two-year deal, thus completing the transaction pending a physical.
What that means is Bradshaw just lost a ton of leverage.
Is there another team lurking? Yeah, maybe. But with the way Bradshaw pounded the table suggesting the Dolphins were the only other team he's strongly considering, he's now standing on only one leg as far as these negotiations go.
Indications are Bradshaw isn't getting the offers he thought he'd get, including the one from the Giants. If he was getting the kind of proposals he wanted, this thing would have been done by now. And the Giants are obviously trying to nab him with a lower bid - an offer that can't possibly be even in the same zip code as the $8 million per year the Panthers gave DeAngelo Williams.
Right now, it might be time for Bradshaw to realize his bluff has been called and cut his losses. Perhaps by the end of the day, this deal will be done. Stay tuned

Reggie Bush to Miami is the best thing that could've happened. He loses a lot of leverage but he still has the DeAngelo Williams deal to use. He is going to get a big contract but at least we wont lose him.

Re: Ahmad Bradshaw / RB News
Bradshaw did say other teams were interested. You'd have to think the Bengals would be in the mix. Now the Giants should lower their offer. He was chasing money, I'm thinking screw him at this point.

No one can ever question Jacobs on being a team player. Wish some of these other guys like Eli would pay attention to what he's doing.

Re: Ahmad Bradshaw / RB News
I always wanted to see what Ronnie Brown could do behind a line like ours and a passing game like ours. He constantly faced stacked boxes and still managed good numbers. Pair him with a back like Jacobs and they could further preserve each others shelf life. He's 100% and should sign for cheap. I think Brown gives us a better version of Ward and we all know how well Jacobs/Ward worked for us. Matter of fact I think he could be a Otis Anderson Part 2 and give us two good seasons like Otis did.
Honestly, I don't want to spend that much on a RB seeing that we already have Jacobs. We aren't desperate for one. Just need someone who can share the load with BJ.

If we pass on Bradshaw thats possible. An addition of Ronnie Brown and Lawrence Vickers to the backfield is very reasonable.
Note: Redskins and Bengals are making a run at Bradshaw.
