Giants won't keep or pay big money for injured players
And quite frankly, can you blame them?
I know the Giants were getting blasted by much of the media and fans for letting some of these players go this summer.
So this list just puts things into a little more perspective and what the Giants so far have done about it.
Shaun O'Hara - operations on both feet (Signed David Baas)
Rich Seubert - reconstructive knee surgery (David Diehl takes over)
Steve Smith - microfracture knee surgery (still decent wr depth)
Kevin Boss - multiple concussions (still a ? to be answered at TE)
Shawn Andrews - lingering back problems (still have good O-line depth)
Madison Hedgecock - degenerative back disease and hamstring (signed best FB college prospect and Bear is still a fallback option)
All great players once upon a time but it's hard to contribute when your not playing.

I'm okay with losing all of those guys besides Smith. He was our best WR and Eli's favorite target. He will be hard to replace, we have yet to see how effective Jernigan will be in the slot.
I'm just angry because he went to the Eagles of all teams, that stings the most because he was one of my favorite players on the team.

I agree Uzi. That really sucks the most. I'm good with the interior line makeover and Beckum stepping up at TE. But in fairness we did resign Bradshaw who has ankle problems and Kiwi who had the disc problem last year.
I get what your saying though and this could end up a reoccurring thing, but we really didn't improve our team much at all. Just lost a lot of key pieces.

This is true, but those two players are participating in full practices if I'm not mistaken.
Kevin Boss is the only player on that short list that could have trained all summer.
Possibly O'Hara too, but we've seen how many teams have been knocking on his door this summer. And he's been a pro bowler for the past three seasons.

Fair points. Like i said i like what was done with the oline. We got stronger inside and come mid season this line should be better than recent years and thats saying a lot.
I don't mind losing Boss as much as Smith but Eli losing both in the same offseason raises a few questions for me. It's also not like we didn't want those players back. We made offers on both and according to MG those guys were apart of the plan moving forward.
Although I like what we have at TE, I could see us trading for a more proven commodity to throw in the mix.

Quick prediction.
Sage Rosenfels is part of a trade for a decent Tight End. Likely soon after the preseason games when teams find out their injuries.

I hope its the Seahawks, Tavaris looked bad today and their depth is Charlie Whitehurst.

I kinda felt bad for Tavaris. That entire line was terrible and gave him no time to do anything. But yeah, they would be a good team to trade with.
