Injuries at Corner
Losing Thomas for the season is a huge blow to this team. What makes it worse we are already without Bruce Johnson, Prince, and Witherspoon for the start of the season.
A move at corner needs to be made. Hayden is still a free agent and he remains the best available.

Ross needs to step up
We still need another corner and Hayden makes a lot of sense, he would be a good fit competing with Ross for the #2

Definatly took a big hit with Thomas getting injured.
Hopefully we can get this thing worked out.

We are bringing in Lito Sheppard for a workout, he would be a nice pick up imho

NFLN's Jason La Canfora also reports that Hayden was in Kansas City last week, but left without a contract. The Bears also passed on Hayden, apparently over medical concerns. Hayden could fit Minnesota's defensive scheme after playing in a similar system with Indianapolis, but health is the big issue. Aug 22 - 3:50 PM
Hayden is reportedly visiting minnesota as well.

I heard he turned down a visit from the Giants. We'll see how this turns out. Possibly a trade.

Interesting, turned down a visit here?
I wouldn't be hugely surprised about a trade.
also we will have a little more leeway as we are likely to get at least a couple of good compensation picks
(gain Bass + lose Cofield, Boss, Smith should give something like a 3rd round and a 4th round compensation picks)

Re: Injuries at Corner
We tried out Dre Bly, Lito Sheppard, and Brian Williams. We also flirted with the idea of moving Rolle down to CB. In the end, we signed Brian Williams. Hopefully Prince heals fast and picks up the defense in the meantime.

Re: Injuries at Corner
Brian Williams was the falcons best corner last year, but he is 32 and has had some injury problems. Still should be a useful addition until prince gets back. We are going to need prince on the field this year omhoPizan wrote:We tried out Dre Bly, Lito Sheppard, and Brian Williams. We also flirted with the idea of moving Rolle down to CB. LMAO. No, Brian Williams was not their best CB last year. That title would go to probowler Brent Grimes who led the league with 23 passes defensed. They also have Dunta Robinson. Williams was never, not even at his very best better than Robinson.
Williams was thrown at 22 times last season, with 18 passes completed thats 82%.
I don't know where you come up with this stuff half the time, Pete.
