Make a trade for LB Aaron Curry Mr Reese?
the Seahawks are benching Aaron Curry, for whatever reason he hasn't panned out in Seattle (partly how they have used him IMHO)
He Curry also reworked his deal so that he will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. Considering the state of our LBs, should we make a trade for Curry? His value wouldn't be huge and we likely have extra comp picks next year.
At the very least it would give us experience to our young LB corps.
What do you think?

We should definitely consider it at the very least. Will Reese set his Ego aside and make a move on a LB? No.

Jerry Reese rarely makes a trade, unless the Eagles demolish us we'll stick with 3 safeties.
We need to sign Tatupu or trade for Curry, preferably both. I don't like the 3 safety sets especially with all our injuries in the secondary.

Pizan, you are dead right about LB talent, for whatever reason it hasn't been a priority for Reese, mind you the same can be said for Accorsi as well.
What really frustrates me is the continual use of DE or 3-4 OLB style guys at SLB, such as Torbor, Sintim, Kiwanuka, Tracy etc. We need genuine LBs, they don't need to be first rounders but quality prospects would be nice.
Take when we drafted Kiwanuka, we needed an OLB badly, but drafted a 4th DE rather than DeMeco Ryans who was considered very good value and filled a need for us.
For a team that builds through the draft out failure to draft LBs is alarming.
I recently went through our draft record, I will keep that for another article.
The bottom line is we badly need help at LB, we have likely a 3rd and 4th round comp picks next year. So why not offer say a 3rd for Curry and get immediate help at LB (probably mike).
I can understand not going for an aging vet, but Curry is young, has been healthy, has experience and good physical tools; plus he has plenty of potential.

Good points Pete, I've said this many times too. Every draft we always take the best player available instead of addressing a huge need.
I remember how pissed I was in 2007 when we passed on Jon Beason and Paul Posluzsny. Both of these plays would've addressed our need right now.
2012 is a strong LB class and since 3 QBs and 2 WRs could go in the top 10 we can easily grab one of the better LB available.

It is potentially for sure, but I have no confidence we will draft a LB early, just look back at our track record under Reese, Accorsi and even Young over the last 20 years

Aaron Curry hints he’s on the trading block

Divisional Playoffs - Seattle Seahawks v Chicago Bears Getty Images
In August, when we pointed out that Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry had given up $5 million in guaranteed money under the contract he signed as the fourth pick in the 2009 draft, Seattle coach Pete Carroll downplayed the possibility that the revised deal was the result of Curry’s performance in camp, claiming that the new contract had been done months ago.
But it wasn’t months ago. It happened on August 16.
Curry has since been benched, hardly playing in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.
As pointed out by Danny O’Neill of the Seattle Times, Curry now has dropped some hints that he’s on the trading block via Twitter, suggesting that possible destinations include the Vikings and the Panthers.
It’s not a shock that the Seahawks would decide to move on, given that Curry arrived before the current regime. The real question is whether anyone will make a move for his services, including the Bears, where the man who drafted Curry now serves in a key front-office role.

Re: Make a trade for LB Aaron Curry Mr Reese?
Jerry is gonna sit on his ego and let the Eagles beat us to it. When we all know he should make a hard push for him.
Depending on what we give up for him I'd like to see him play the middle. Its easy to say now but I thought when he was drafted he would make a better pro MLB than a SLB. Give him time use him in packages at first but play him in the middle eventually. Boley is running the D right now anyway so we can get away with this.
It would be ideal to keep Osi/Kiwi and acquire Curry.

You are probably right vin.
From reports the Seahawks have had a 6th rounder as the best offer for Curry so far.
I really hope Reese ups the ante and we get Curry.
Ideally I would put him in the middle as well.
I still want to see Kiwi back at DE, but it is what it is.

A 6th? Hell I'd trade a 4th for him.
Come on Jerry, don't let this win boost your ego, we still need help.

Re: Make a trade for LB Aaron Curry Mr Reese?
That was my thinking as well.
But it also depends on what the Seahawks want in return.
I think a fourth rounder is fair.
I am expecting a third and fourth round compensation draft picks for our net free agency losses (Cofield+Boss+Smith-Baas)

Re: Make a trade for LB Aaron Curry Mr Reese?
Just thinking aloud, I'd the Seahawks were willing to trade curry to nyg, it would make sense to do it after our game.
The trade deadline is a couple of weeks away.
Of course the other issue would be to create enough cap room for the signing.

I was thinking the very same.
Also, we should be on upset watch. . . These are the kinda games we lose.

Not sure on Prince Uzi. Coughlin has only said that prince was still a ways away and that was last week when he said it.
How do you guys feel about Curry after watching the Giants game yesterday? I might go back and re-watch it just to key in on him.

If you do just watch the 4th quarter. He missed a tackle but made a couple solid plays one on Cruz in coverage and one on Bradshaw.
Overall not enough to get a good feel for but still worth the gamble. I think we should definitely do the trade.

Coughlin also said the same about Steve Smith so I don't know how reliable his word is.
I hope Prince can make it back soon, our secondary needs help.

Curry traded to the Raiders for a 7th this year and a conditional pick next year.

To be fair, we didn't have much cap space to work with. Reese and abrams would have had to be creative to get it done.
Still I feel that's one we let slip through.
