The Giants lost one coordinator Saturday and might be on the verge of losing another.
Kevin Gilbride, the team's offensive coordinator since late in the 2006 season, impressed the Raiders during the interview process last week, according to someone informed of the progress of Oakland's search for a head coach.
The person, who requested anonymity because the Raiders haven't commented publicly on their interviews, said Gilbride could be named coach soon. According to several reports, interim coach Tom Cable had a good chance of retaining the job.
But the person mentioned an interesting name that has been overlooked recently: former Giants coach Jim Fassel, who was considered a candidate in November when he reportedly sent Raiders owner Al Davis a letter throwing his name into the mix.
It's unclear if Fassel has interviewed for the job, but the person said he's a legitimate candidate for the job.

Wouldn't be the worse of things to happen and I'm sure the Giants have a back-up plan since Gilbride was sought after last season as well.
