Which players would you like the Giants to consider trading for?
and why?
The most obvious targets are guys off contract after 2009 who might be in line for a big pay day

Here are my current thoughts on guys I would like the Giants to consider.
WR
Braylon Edwards (maybe)
Roddy White
Greg Jennings
Anquan Boldin (though with Warner resigned he may get his deal)
LB
Thomas Howard
Derrick Johnson (with the shift to 3-4, KC might be better suited with a pass rusher or bigger guys inside)
Clint Ingram
D'Qwell Jackson (might be undersized for Mangini's system ala Vilma)
DeMeco Ryans (though likely not available)

from Adam Shefter (feb 18th ) - nfl.com
I would like Reese to enquire if Johnson was available; perhaps offering a 2nd round pick or including Pierce
The Chiefs are picking scheme over personnel, which has a history of backfiring. KC lacks a two-gap nose tackle and its best front seven player, Derrick Johnson, is a run-and-hit linebacker who may have to "stay at home" more now. It's also unclear where Glenn Dorsey and Tamba Hali will fit.

Re: Which players would you like the Giants to consider trading for?
Another option could be Karlos Dansby who signed his franchise tender
His cap number is a one-year deal worth $9.678 million. I am surprised they are so ready to pay Dansby but have big issues paying Boldin. There is a good chance they won't be able to work out a long term deal, so perhaps a trade could be a better option (giving a couple of good young players and saving a heap of money)
either a couple of draft picks (perhaps 2nd and 4th) or maybe include Pierce?

I'd like to see the giants aquire a trade or draft picks for Tony Gonzalez. He's still got some good football left in him and would provide some veteran leadership to some of our young guys.

Re: Which players would you like the Giants to consider trading for?
I don't think that will happen
Reese isn't going to pay much in the way of picks for Gonzalez and am not sure Pioli would let him go.
Gonzalez is decent value if cheap; perhaps a 5th rounder at best. I think Reese is generally trying to bring in younger guys.
I get the feeling the front office really like Boss and with Johnson, Vickers and Matthews are reasonably happy with the guys we have.

Re: Which players would you like the Giants to consider trading for?
Perhaps, but I see Gonzalez as more than just a tight end. With the hole we have wirh wr's and no real depth at TE, I can see Gonzo fitting right in. He would benefit two key positions that we aren't real strong in.
Also add in that Gonzalez has expressed interest earlier in the year that the giants are a team he would like to play for.
I'd give up more than just a 5th round selection depending on the salary he'd command.
We have 9 draft picks and the chances of all of them making the final roster is slim to none. That many draft picks are great for a bad team with many needs but the giants are a strong team that have few holes to fill.

Don't get me wrong, I like Gonzalez and would like him as a Giant. I just don't think he will be a Giant.
Reese has already hinted that we may not have all those picks by draft day (ie a trade of some kind)
and confirmed we will look at options to trade up (although they explore all options)
I think the Front office are seriously looking to do both (trading for a player and trading up in the draft)
btw we are also likely to get a 1 or 2 compensation picks for Gibril Wilson, Kawika Mitchell and Reggie Torbor
