Report: Cards reduce trade demands for Boldin
April 24, 2009 6:31 PM
Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley
The Arizona Cardinals have reduced their asking price for Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin to a second-round pick and other considerations, according to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.
Sal Pal's sources indicated that the Giants, Eagles and Jets have shown renewed interest in Boldin in light of the Cardinals' willingness to move off demands for a first- and third-round pick. The Cardinals had been wanting something similar to what the Lions received for Roy Williams, but no one has been as benevolent as Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The Jets are the most desperate team for a wide receiver, but the Giants appear to have more ammunition in the form of draft picks. As I've said before, Philly is the best fit for Boldin, but I think the Eagles are in third place now that they've acquired Jason Peters in a trade. Much more to come on this story as things develop.

If this is true, then Boldin very likely will be on the agenda for the right price; but obviously we aren't going to reach for it
the difficulty (as will Edwards) is the huge contract extension Boldin will want (reportedly $9m+)
