My thoughts on the team so far
1. Eli has proved he is a clutch QB with ice in his veins
2. Teams are doing the same thing against the run that philly did in the playoff game, stacking the run. We need to make plays in the passing game, but also be a little more creative in the running game
3. Our WRs are starting to show they can get the job done, we need that to continue,
4. Our Green Zone offense is awefull as has been for some time, I really want to see our physical WRs like Barden and Nicks get in there more
5. Diehl is just getting better, his pass protection is surprisingly good
6. Bradshaw has really stepped up and is becoming the RB we hoped he would be last year. He has really taken a choke hold on the 3rd down role
7. Umenyiora may be looking quick, but he needs to get his run defense back un order
8. Kianuka is looking good and very physical
9. We need Canty in there at DT, he is that big prescence inside that we haven't really had since Keith Hamilton
10. Bernard has been under-whleming so far, we need more from him
11. Boley needs to catch up with the system and get in sync with the schemes
12. Terrell Thomas, although he has shown alot of potential needs to improve.
He isn't as physical as he should be I think partially this could be due to his over compensating for his lack of speed.
I still think he might be better at FS with the plays in front of him.
13. Our kick coverage is ordinary
14. Our roster is packed with depthl Reese and Coughlin have a system that can accomodate injuries reasonably well
All in all I think we need to let everything settle down on both sides of the ball as we adjust to the new players and systems.

Re: My thoughts on the team so far
we have plenty of areas to improve and I think we will improve
if we don't fix these areas, I doubt we have a winning season

Re: My thoughts on the team so far
You make some valid points Pete.
I think our return game without Hixon or Ware is going to hurt us. Moss has shown nothing and likely never will at this point. He may have plenty of desire but he's just not good enough to be a playmaker.
Smith just continues to show off nice crisp routes. He simply has a way of getting open and does it well
Manningham is very quick at getting in and out of his breaks and has the playmaker tag written all over him.
That was one of Eli's best games ever. He continues to impress with his 4th quarter heroics.
Agreed Pete. Our green zone play has really been a setback for a while now. On one particular set of downs we didn't even take a shot at the endzone and I think we were less than ten yards out. Can't remember at what point that was in the game until I go back and watch it. But my friends that were over watching were saying the same thing. Why not at least take a shot with a fade or something. Barden needs to start seeing some real game time or where's Boss been when we're near the goal line?
btw, dig the new avatar Pete. Snee is one solid player. And kudos to the o-line for not giving up a sack.

Re: My thoughts on the team so far
I am reasonably hopeful that Sinorice Moss can be the interim return guy at least until Ware and Hixon are 100%, he did have one of his best games ever.
I think it is harsh to say Moss never will show anything. He did flash really well in preseason and hasn't had an opportunity on the field yet but that doesn't mean he is a bust. He was on the way out and then had that exceptional preseason game, don't write him off; lets wait and see what he does with the chances he has this year.
also note that Darcy Johnson did well blocking in the 2 TE sets
It will depend on the scheme, but I would like to see more 3 WR sets.
I think having Moss and Manningham as genuiine speedsters complemented by Boss and Jacobs/Bradshaw is a better combination to try to beat a loaded defensive front than trying to grind out with a 2 RB, 2 TE sets against a stacked box
spread everyone more, make them cover you deep, and still respect the running game now add in wrinkles like motioning the H back to one side with Jacobs in the game at RB and defenses will have some tough decisions to make.
Heck, maybe use Moss's speed from the slot position (like Santana and Welker are used).
