Well today was a dominant performance

we still aren't hitting our strides yet, but we did shut them out with 86 yds?

I didn't see the game, but it looks like we still have no sacks

Our running game was dominant, we also scored 3 green zone TDs (6yd run, 4 yd pass, 18 yd pass)

Moss had a TD on his only reception

but it was good to see our defense dominant again and I will happily trade sacks for wins Smile

A quick recap from what I seen.

Giants defensive front was quick at getting to the qb on numerous occasions. Yes, we didn't get the sacks but pressure was there all day resulting in Leftwich making his all too often bad decision making.

Steve Smith's route running is some of the best in the nfl and he's really becoming that number one target for Eli.

Fred Robbins was beating double team blocking very easily and getting qb pressures.

Ahmad Bradshaw continues to run his tail off with great vision and power.

Brandon Jacobs hasn't looked right the last few weeks and I don't know what it is. He continues to not hit the hole very hard and stutter steps his way going down rather easily, even without the box being stacked.

One thing I noticed. In the past few years, Jacobs hasn't worn the big thick thigh pads until at least 2/3 through the season. He had them on today in week 3.
I hope his body isn't wearing down already this early in the season.

There were 3-4 drops between Manningham and Boss that I thought were catchable balls.

Give big time credit to the Giants O-line. I think this is the second week in a row that they haven't given up a sack.

It was a very easy day for the Giants secondary so no real evaluation on CC Brown.

Gatrell Johnson looked decent at rb in 4th quarter clean-up time.

Don't drink the Moss coolaid over 1 td. He continued to be unimpressive on his returns.
Moss had a nice TD catch but the defender had good position and it was a perfect pass. Nice concentration on the ball by Moss though.

U don't buy Moss as a return guy, but he can help at receiver

things are naturally a work in progress, but this team is improving, I am keen to see how it goes as we also get healthier.

One of the things I was very impressed with was Beatty at RT and the fact the offensive line didnt skip a beat

I agree with this. Moss is not in the same league as Smith or Manningham, or Hixon as far as route running ability and making the defender miss.
As a returner or on defensive special teams Moss is terrible and gets left in the dust.

Agree totally. The fact that Coughlin put Beatty in at RT ahead of Whimper means a lot, and I think Whimper usually does good too when called upon.

I actually think that Smith and Manningham are only a shade ahead of Nicks, Hixon and Moss as receivers and that whoever we have on the field can get the job done. They all have different abilities and cause different problems for defenses.

Barden will be fine once he develops and Hagan is a good special teamer and solid WR.

I have alot of time for Moss; lets face it he has had a great preseason yet was in the depature lounge before that breakout preseason game forced the front office to keep him. He has earned his shot the hard way, lets see what he can do. Moss has had troubles with injuries and he hasn't progressed as fast as we would like, but there is no doubt he has ability and it is starting to come together for him. All he can do if perform when he gets his opportunities and he has done that so far. In some ways Moss reminds me of Corey Webster; another guy who was likely on his way out before that playoff series and he hasn't looked back.

The WR position is very crowded and Moss has had limited opportunity so far; but he doesn't complain. all he does is work hard and do whatever the team needs him to do. I think he will have a bigger role this season as it unfolds; particularly is we use more 3 WR sets.

Having said that Moss is not a returner. He gets the gig because Hixon and Manningham are hurt. I think when everyone is healthy Hixon will be the return guy.

I actually think the depth of our receiving corps is an asset. Think about it, Hixon and Nicks are out and we are kicking along fine. It also allows us to vary our personnel depending on what is needed against specific teams and schemes.

Eli is playing awesomely, as things settle they will only get better. As I said in preseason, don't be surprised if he has an NFL MVP calibre season.

It is good to see our TEs and RBs be involved in the passing game. Hedgecock needs to be able to get the ball more efficiently.
