help for new offseason thoughts Empty help for new offseason thoughts

Post  Big_Pete Fri Dec 04, 2009 6:09 pm

Hi Guys

This weekend I will be doing my last offseason thoughts for a while as I am on vacation from the 11th December until 12th January
and will be overseas in New Zealand.

I am going a complete review of everything where it stands at the moment.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions.

If I get time, I will also do 3 round mock draft

I'd like to read your opinion on the Giants offensive line and running backs situation.
Clearly, neither are playing up to the same level that they were last season.

How can these positions go downhill so fast? I'm not buying that the Giants miss Derrick Ward's running ability that much. I'm a D Ward fan and his blocking ability is missed but we have other capable backs on our roster in my opinion.

What say you Pete?

btw, Have a great time on vacation Very Happy

I think we got old at a few positions in the trenches real fast on both sides.

I actually think alot of the running game's problems stem from the poor oline play. They haven't had alot of opportunity to get downhill
Basically the poor line play has had a carryover effect on other positions.

O'Hara needs to improve and Diehl and Seubert aren't cutting it. McKenzie is playing pretty well, and Snee is ok - alot of this is very correctable.

defensively, Canty has missed alot of time. Robbins and Bernard are pretty much a waste of space. Cofield does ok, but he is an early down run plugger. Aford being hurt does hurt this team too.

Pierce being hurt is a problem, I really like the fact that we are giving Goff a shot at MLB over blackburn. From what I have heard the coached really like what he can do

But I do have a plan Smile

Mckenzie may have one more season left. He keeps getting injured. This is an indication the wily old vet is breaking down.

Seubert is playing injured. He has been a warrior and is aging.

Because of Shaun O'Hara's high salary, I would not be surprised if he is replaced.

Diehl is very good. His slow feet may force the Giants to play him inside.

Snee is the best of the bunch.

O'Hara isn't that expensive, and he is still a decent player.

I will be doing a new version of my offseason thoughts soon

possibly before I get back from my vacation on 7th Jan

needless to say there will be a heap of changes next offseason, particularly on the defensive side of the ball where there will be a major overhaul.

Jerry Reese will certainly be busy both in the draft and free agency
