New York Giants sign wide receiver Sinorice Moss to one year tender

BY Ralph Vacchiano
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

Wednesday, April 14th 2010, 7:49 PM
Wide receiver Sinorice Moss is signed with the Giants through the 2010 season.

Little-used receiver Sinorice Moss signed his tender with the Giants on Wednesday.

Moss, 26, got an "original pick" tender from the Giants worth $1.176 million this season. He is the fourth of their tendered restricted free agents to sign, joining OL Kevin Boothe ($1.176 million), DE Dave Tollefson ($1.684 million) and OL Guy Whimper ($1.176 million).

The four others - DT Barry Cofield ($1.759 million), WR Derek Hagan ($1.176 million), WR Domenik Hixon ($1.684 million) and LB Gerris Wilkinson ($1.176 million) are all expected to eventually sign.

Moss, a former second-round pick, has just 39 catches in his four NFL seasons. He dressed for eight games last year and caught one pass.

no real surprise

At the very least Moss gives good competition and there is alot to like about his attitude and work ethic.

I do wonder if this could be a precusor to a trade...

we are over stocked at WR, I think it unlikely we carry 7 on the active roster again.

Although since coughlin has been here he has carried more receivers than normal (let's remember he did make his name as a receivers coach) I think moss is definitely one of the draft day trade candidates. He's a decent player but Eli throws his balls a little high so he really never stood a chance here IMO.
