I thought this was an interesting formula from Pro Football Focus.
Here is how our safties compared to others.

This is a link to CC Brown, Aaron Rouse, and Michael Johnson stats.
Giants Safeties

It was easy to notice how bad our safeties were exposed but it is mind boggling how Michael Johnson is still on this roster.
Imo, Rouse had bigger upside. (not going by the chart)

Here is a link to Seattle's safety tandem and Deon Grant
Deon Grant

Last but not least Antrel Rolle
Notice the 14 missed tackles to only 13 solo tackles.
Compare that to Adrian Wilson. 1 missed tackle, 28 solo tackles scratch

I'm not a big stats guy really. I like to judge by what my two eyes see on the field.
Unfortunately, when watching on TV though it can be hard to judge because you don't always see what the safeties do back there.

I don't think you can take much from stats defensively. Alot depends on the scheme and players around him.

Take Antrell Rolle for example, the Cardinals have Adrian Wilson at SS who plays closer to the LOS and had Rolle more of the single deep guy.

Fewell's system is different, both safeties will be asked to do similar things. Also our front seven is very different and we have a much better pass rush.

I have to disagree Pete. Those missed tackles are a bit alarming. If a back breaks free and enters our last line of defense you can pretty much say forget-about-it. But On the other hand the completion % and the QB rating thrown in his direction are way more important to me considering we brought him in to cover. He just isnt the greatest open field tackler which isnt surprising really, he is a converted corner after all.

Good topic TD.
