Re: Pierre-Paul and Joseph signed
It is great that both have signed before camp.
I think both will definately contribute in thier rookie season.
JPP is my darkhorse for defensive rookie if the year.
We know JPP is raw, but he will get on the field, it will most likely be in passing situations where he can get after the QB. With the other guys we have on this defensive line, it isn't going to be possible to double JPP. Fewell will use packages featuring our 4 DEs on the Dline and our secondary is also much improved, meaning QBs may need more time to find open guys.
Lets not forget JPP is our quickest and most athletic defensive lineman, considering the roster we have, that is no mean feat. And he is a natural pass-rusher.
It may take JPP some time to develop into a complete end, but I think be could have a very good impact in his rookie year.

I doubt he makes much of an impact at all. He over pursues way too much. NFL tackles will just push him to the side. The only stats he'll get will be just like in college when Selvie ran the QB outta the pocket and JPP made the easy tackle/sack. IMO, He'll have a season much like Osi did his rookie year. He has waaaay to much to learn.

maybe we can use JPP a little like we did Kiwi at times. Every now and again see him drop back to play linebacker. He should have the quickness to play that role.

Re: Pierre-Paul and Joseph signed
I think JPP's impact will come with Fewell's version of the 4 aces packages.
Presumably it will likely be Tuck and Kiwanuka inside, Umenyiora at RDE and JPP at LDE. The big difference here is that he would be going against right tackles and tight ends rather than left tackles who would be a tough challenge for him. His speed and quickness will be a real problem for most RTs, I can easily see him consistently beating RTs to the corner. Add a couple of pass-rushing moves, he will be a real handfull to defend.. He also has the strength to work over TEs. Sure the other three guys are the most dangerous, but don't right off JPP.
Sure he has a ton to learn, but can get by with his physical tools and natural pass-rushing ability (which will improve a lot in camp). Particularly if given the direction to all out go after the QB.
I don't expect JPP to be much more than a situational pass-rusher at this point, but I think he could be effective. Don't forget that JPP is faster/quicker than Osi by all reports, that means for passing downs we have a pair of legitimate speed rushers on the edge, plus quick physical guys inside.
We would likely be in nickle packages, so our DBs will likely be Webster, Thomas, Ross at corner, Rolle and Phillips/Grant deep. At LB Boley will be one and the other will likely be Sintim, Bulluck or Wilkinson, I think Wilkinson could get the second LB spot, he does do really well in coverage (which was mentioned recently by Fewell).
I could see JPP with at least half a dozen sacks as a situational pass-rusher in that kind of system, particularly as the NFL has become more pass happy in recent years.
