What are your thoughts on the Game?

It was great to see Bomar getting a lot of work, and he did ok

Nice to see improved running game with Brown and Bradshaw
Was Jacobs suited for the game?

we seemed a bit soft at DT, who was in there the most? how did Cofield and Bernard go?

Adrian Tracy seemed to do well in his time on the field, he made a bunch of plays in the backfield and in coverage.

Wilkinson seems to be a LB with a nose for the ball.

Kehl seems to be a bit underwhelming and was Goff on the field?

Busing could be a wildcard for a 5th safety spot.

We did cut down on penalties, improve our running game and special teams was better so there is positives.

Did we do ok on the injury front?

Adrian Tracy did really well as he did last week also. He's my biggest surprise player so far this pre-season. He was all over the field making plays. Now if we can just get Sintim to do the same.

Wilkinson did ok. I noticed him more last week but that's not to say he did bad this week. I just tried watching our other players instead.

I'll have to rewatch to see how Kehl, Goff, and Bulluck did.

Bomar did fine. I don't think the int was necessarily his fault. It was tipped off the hands of Manningham.
Bomar would have looked much better behind a real offensive line.
He did miss a wide open Tim Brown down the side line which I'm sure he would have liked to have that play back.
He's got some good wheels to get himself out of trouble when he needs to.
Sorgi may be a notch better but let's see Bomar behind a good o-line first.

Yes Pete. Our D-tackles were soft. Bernard and Joseph made a real nice 4 down stop on the goal line to their credit.
However, before and after that Bernard looked terrible whenever he was in.

Osi, Tuck, Kiwi all made nice plays and have their speed back.
JPP looked a little soft but you can see the skills there to get to the QB. JPP will be a good one eventually.

Cofield, Canty, Alford, didn't show much. They got run at pretty good down the middle.

Andre Brown finally showed some toughness this week running the ball. He looked bad again though returning kick-offs.

Bradshaw looked like his normal self. Nice runs.

Gartrell Johnson is hard to bring down on first contact and looked decent on his kick return. I think it got called back because of an illegal wedge though.

I think Danny Ware was the only player to get injured. Not sure of the severity.

Bruce Johnson continues to struggle. He got burnt for a long touchdown. He didn't get any safety help but the fact remains, he still got burnt.

Rolle played real well. He's not afraid to mix it up at the line of scrimmage or getting to the qb which is where I thought he was going to have problems.
Grant looked pretty good again. He might have took a bad angle on one first down running play though.

Victor Cruz did prove to be human. He made a really nice run and catch.
Cruz made bad choices on his punt returns though, muffed one at the 5 yd line that he should have never tried to catch.
Fair caught another that he probably should have tried to run.

Ross had a real beauty of a punt return, hopefully he continues.

Overall, not a bad game. The fact is though, this game didn't really hold any validity to it.
Minus our D-line, Many of our starters seemed to be out, and it's hard to judge anything based on that. It was a good game to watch the rooks and borderline cuts get a chance.

nice observations

it is preseason, and we are just trying out a lot of concepts and packages, particularly on defense - so we know exactly what we have.

Also we had our 3rd string QB in there, naturally with Eli in there our offense takes on a whole new look.

what was the issue with Nicks and Ike Taylor getting ejected?

all in all solid steps this game

I believe Nicks got an accidental hand up near the facemask of Ike on a block. That is what I heard triggered it anyways. I don't think they ever showed a replay on tv.

Nicks didn't even throw a punch that I could tell. Mostly just held onto Ike with a handful of jersey as Taylor was throwing left and rights like it was a boxing match.

I think this was just a pre-season statement by the refs that it won't be tolerated when the real season comes so they ejected both.

btw, If Matt Dodge doesn't improve greatly in these next two games then I can't see how the Giants go into the real season with him.
Terrible consistency, no hang time, line drives that can alsmost be batted down at the line of scrimmage.

He had one good punt but that was it.
