Should we sign Derrick Ward
D Ward - should Giants sign him?
Derrick Ward has been released by the Bucs.
Should the Giants look to sign him?
We know he can be productive in our system, particularly in passing situations, splitting time with Jacobs and Bradshaw.
It would very likely be at the expense of DJ Ware
any thoughts?

I voted yes
I am not that thrilled with DJ Ware and we need better production from our RBs in passing situations, Ward has been very effective here.
frankly Ware has had plenty of chances, he should be flashing more than he has to date.

I agree, pick him up. He was real solid on the Giants and is great depth behind Jacobs and Bradshaw.

get him.
He's light years ahead of DJ Ware and beyond.

I also said yes. I havent been impressed with any one behind Bradshaw and Jacobs. Ward gives us that superbowl rushing attack back assuming he wouldn't mind coming back. He may feel he can start elsewhere like Seattle or get more carries with Spags in St. Louis.

That is true, but at the same time he isn't going to get big money and he know he can be successful here.
He also could pretty much plug right in, he knows the system. Anywhere else he has to learn their offensive system from scratch.

From a RBs point of view learning a new system isn't very hard. Not even the terminology. Thats why rookie RBs have such easy success early.
He wont get big money from us either. In his head he should be thinking he can be successful any where if he doubts himself why would we want him?
If your a RB and you have two offers on the table. Both are giving you the same money but the one job you'll be the 3rd back and the other you'll be the 2nd back... where would you go?

There are a lot of potential factors in play for Ward.
I guess we will see what happens regardless in the next day or two.
I am pretty sure Ward's agent will have received a call from Jerry Reese.
Let's see what Derrick wants to do
