Here are my thoughts on the Giants so far

The Giants were outplayed, but we weren't awefull.
I just wonder if the style of football we are playing on both sides is a little too predictable. It seems to me we are being out coached. Other teams are doing a better job game planning for us than vice versa.

Indy just seemed a step ahead and Peyton was the big difference.

With Indy running on us all the first half, I don't know why Fewell didn't make adjustments and put in the bigger DT and LB instead of Kiwanuka at DT and Grant at LB - this is a concern.

TE blocking is a must. The Indy DEs had a field day with Beckum as starting TE. Our tackles needed help and for whatever reason weren't getting it. Also we weren't getting much punch from the Oline in the running game.

Why couldn't someone cover Dallas Clark?

I know Manning used the no huddle (to reduce our rotation) and Indy schemed well, but why couldn't we get more pressure on their QB?

Special teams was much better (but it needed to be).

We need to step up.

Um... yes they were awful. Maybe Eli wasn't but who really knows because he never got a chance.

Yeah, starting the game with only one linebacker on the field was a little telling don't ya think?

maybe because the Colts rb's were too busy running the football down the Giants throats

Special teams was much better (but it needed to be).
If Matt Dodge was our bright spot of the night then we suck more than I thought.

The Giants were outcoached and outplayed big time. This game was never even close.
Can't wait to see what Perry Fewell tells the Titans offense ahead of time next week.

If adjustments need to be made then do it after all else fails.
You can't go into the second game of the season by not believing in what your defense does best. It sends a message of not having any confidence in what you have been teaching them all summer long.

bad bad bad bad.................... game!

what I don't understand is why we couldn't get pressure up front.

I agree completely TD. Coaching and playing, we sucked. our Rush defense was exposed as was our pass rush. See what happens when you play a good QB.

Although the colts DE's got a lot of pressure I was disappointed in Eli not seeing/feeling the pressure quick enough and then trying to elude it or step up into the pocket.

As far as bright spots. . . ehh . . . Jacobs throwing his helmet into the crowd then blaming the gloves?

I am putting a lot of this one on the coaching staff.

Sure it is up to the players to perform, but the coaches need to put the players in situations that allow them to get the job done.

I don't think there was any lack of motivation or work ethic by the players.

This kind of performance makes me want to see Bill Cowher on the NYG sidelines in 2011.

Bill knows all about what Giants style football is about (defense and a power running game, but he also has a decent aerial game as well)

Carolina will land Cowher. Fox is done there. I don't think we get rid of Coughlin unless we have a record below .500 this year. Not saying I agree with it because I have a few guys in mind that I would like.

Coughlin is in the second last year of his deal and the Giants do not let a coach go into the last year of a deal. So it would mean Coughlin is fired or extended and I can't see the latter.
I actually think Coughlin could retire and go to a front office job ala Parcells. Coughlin doesn't seem to have the fire and passion he had in previous years.

I am not sure, Cowher is reputed to want the Giants gig and if it is up for grabs he will be in the mix.

who are the guys you have in mind?
