Domenik Hixon says he's agreed to terms with Giants on a new deal

Giants wide receiver and returner Domenik Hixon said he's agreed to terms with the team on a new contract and will sign it on Thursday morning.
Hours after signing D.J. Ware to a contract extension, the Giants have apparently come to terms on a deal with another impending restricted free agent.
Wide receiver/returner Domenik Hixon wrote on his Facebook page earlier tonight he and the team have reached an agreement on an undisclosed contract.
"God answers PRAYERS! My agent and I have been negotiating with the Giants and it looks like we have came to terms!" Hixon wrote. "Going to sign the papers in the a.m. and make this thing official! Thank God and all the support from family, friends and fans!!! Thank You and GO G-MEN!!!"
Terms of the impending agreement are not yet available.
Hixon, 26, missed all of last season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in a practice at the New Meadowlands Stadium. He was placed on injured reserve and made few appearances in the locker room during the season. Without Hixon, the Giants' return games struggled, as the team finished 31st in kick-return average and tied for last in the NFL in punt-return average. Hixon averaged 15.1 yards per punt return in 2009.
Hixon also had 58 receptions combined in 2008 and '09. His injury last spring was the first of many that hampered the Giants' depth chart at receiver.

Good news. Our returning and specials suffered greatly with his absence this past season.

Just saw we resigned Reynaud too. . .
Obviously we can't admit when we made a mistake.

I think it is a case of hedging our bets until we know the situation. It could be Reynaud has undisclosed injuries or the like, he did well in Minnesota.
Or it could be he is insurance against Hixon's health and likely camp fodder.
I really like the Hixon signing though

Wow, I'm dissapointed. He is a waste of roster space.Pizan wrote:Just saw we resigned Reynaud too. . .

One decent year at punt returns and nothing notable at kick returning.
Maybe the Giants have plans using him in the running or receiving game? I doubt it though since he's never done either in the nfl.
Players like Reynaud come a dime a dozen.

How so? Assuming a normal season, we are six months from trimming the roster to 80.
Reynaud is a solid cheap guy, if he can regain some of his form from his time at the Vikings (where he was a very good return guy), he is a steal. At the very least he gives depth and camp fodder.

Other than stats. I don't know exactly how Reynaud did for the Vikings but when he had return opportunities with the Giants this year he looked a lot like Sinorice Moss doing returns.
I'm guessing the Vikings had pretty stout special teams blocking.

Reynaud didn't make any ST coordinators lose sleep at night while with the Viks and he SUCKED bad here. Let his ass go, he's a waste of a locker.
