Very interesting and certainly willing to try new ideas.
I do think both Mallet and Ponder go in the 1st, not sure where yet.
If the draft turned out this way, the Giants would likely take Amukamara at 19 over Pouncey. Stud CBs are hard to get and Prince is a great fit for the style of system we use. We can get guys like Wisniewski later.
CB may not be an obvious need, but both Thomas and Ross are off contract after the season; plus Webster's contract is over $10m/year.
I have a feeling, the Giants have Prince graded rather highly and CB is a more premium position.

Re: Pizan's 1st Round Mock Draft
Dallas could have a scary air game if they go with AJ Green. I seriously hope they go in another direction.
Washington won't hurt my feelings if they go with Dalton. I like Dalton but I think the Giants pass rush would have some success against Dalton. At least until he settles in with better players around him.
Jimmy Smith is a good pick for the eagles.
Pouncey is a good pick for the Giants but I sort of hope the Giants can select Ingram here instead.
Can't wait for the draft tomorrow!

Re: Pizan's 1st Round Mock Draft
I have another trade scenario that may happen. I almost had the Patriots trading up to get in front of Miami to snag Ingram. If thats the case Maimi could go Mallet or Pouncey. I went with Mallet for 2 bullshit reasons. Marino had reported drug problems they went with him and it worked out well, Mallet has the same problems. Brandon Marshall is very high on Mallet.
I realized the scenario of Pouncey, Ingram, and Costanzo not being there at 19 is very real.
In the end I was surprised how far I had JJ Watt fall.
Prince Amukamara is one of the most overrated prospects. His college numbers weren't 1st round caliber. He struggled vs top competition. He'll be lucky to be the 2 corner taken. I'm hoping he falls to the Eagles so they pick him.

There's always surpise players that drop more spots than you think or jump way up the draft board.
I think one of those three that we all seem to like could drop. Pouncey, Costonzo, or Ingram.

Any chance von Miller drops to 19? haha, I wish.56 Crazed Dogs wrote:There's always surpise players that drop more spots than you think or jump way up the draft board.

Any of those three would be great.

I know that I'm late on this Hamp. (and it's good to have you back.) But no the Giants didn't have a chance at Von Miller and especially now since the Broncos selected him with their second pick.

Hey CD, good to be back. Yeah, I knew they didn't have a shot at miller, but damn he's gonna be great. The Giants need some speed at LB, which is why I want Thomas Howard.56 Crazed Dogs wrote:I know that I'm late on this Hamp. (and it's good to have you back.) I picked Prince Amukamara, but to be honest I am surprised he was still available.

I'm a Howard fan as well. I think given another chance with another team he can be a good outside linebacker. The Giants need some speed at LB, which is why I want Thomas Howard.
