Giants wanted Packers FB John Kuh

The team made an offer to Packers FB John Kuhn, according to someone informed of the progress of negotiations between the Giants and Kuhn. The person, who requested anonymity because the talks were to remain confidential, said the Giants’ offer was higher than the three-year, $7.5-million deal the Green Bay fan favorite eventually signed to remain with the Packers.
Kuhn’s agent, Kevin Gold, confirmed the Giants made an offer but wouldn’t say whether it was more lucrative than the deal Kuhn signed with Green Bay.
“Green Bay was No. 1 to him,” Gold said of the player who inspired “Kuuuuuhn” chants at Lambeau Field last season. “It was going to take a lot more for him to leave there.”
Last week, the Giants released fullback Madison Hedgecock. It’s unclear at this point if they’ve shown any interest in the remaining free-agent fullbacks, including Ravens free agent LeRon McClain.

It also said we were never in on the Leach race.
Thats interesting though. Glad to see they are trying to upgrade the position. Vickers is still a FA, the best one left.

whats interesting is that our offer was higher than the 3 year $7.5m he got with the packers.
Considering that the Giants had a very tough cap situation that is a lot of interest and very good money for a FB.
I wonder whether us chasing Kuhn could have cost us a quality LB - for
example Stephen Tulloch got a 1 year $3.25m deal which is not much more
than we offered Kuhn.
Will we look at LeRon McClain?
Perhaps our interest in Jason Snelling is due to Kuhn resigning with the Packers.

I like Kuhn but personally I'd rather go for a guy like Snelling as a fullback. He's more athletic and adds better running qualities.

If they want a FB they better act fast. Vickers just signed with the Texans. And McClain with the Chiefs.
