Official Gmen draft a SS thread!!
Kenny Phillips is emerging as a good FS, I can't help the feeling that we are a quality SS away from a very very good secondary
Like many of you, I am not entirely happy with the ability of James Butler at SS and lets face it, Sammy Knight is a short term solution at best.
I know the front office like Butler, but I think he will leave in free agency next year and this is a position we can upgrade really well.
This year's safety class is stacked, there are likely to be a several juniors delcare. Particularly with the extra 2nd round pick this year, 2009 could be an excellent year to finally get that quality SS our secondary badly needs.
Here are some good SS prospects for next year (and their 2007 stats)
William Moore, Missouri, 6-1, 226, 4.49
(2007: 14 GP; 14 GS; 71 Sol-115 TT, 9 TFL, 2 SK, 8 INT, 5 PBU, 2 QBH, 2 FF)
