Coaching options for 2010
Clearly unless there is a major change there willbe a shake up in the coaching staff next offseason.
I am not sure Coughlin will be fired, but I could certainly see Gilbride and Sheridan on the way out
Some time ago I suggested that the Giants should look at Charlie Weis as OC and John Fox as DC
recent events seem to hint this is a possibility
Weis has been fired at Notre Dame and is reportedly being offered NFL Offensive Coordinator positions
Fox is still with the Panthers, but it is looking really shaky. Paul Schwartz has recently suggested he will be a good fit and Chris Mortensen has suggested he thinks fox will be fired.
Both Fox and Weis have strong links with the Giants and are noted as being gifted coordinators. Both would have a lot of autonomy =under Coughlin and would have a chance to establish themselves with the team and could be groomed as a possible successor to Coughlin.
Given the state of the team, I think Reese will prefer experienced coordinators rather than a youner option.

Re: Coaching options for 2010
Of course that isn't my ideal coaching staff for 2010, I would like to see Coughlin fired. He has done well so far, instilling discipline and the team firts attitude. But I think the team needs a different guy to take them to the next level; it is a real concern to be that the players are just not responding to adversity like they have in previous years.
My ideal coaching staff would be something like:
Head Coach - Jeff Fisher (Tennessee)
Offensive Coordinator - Charlie Weis (Notre Dame)
Quarterbacks Coach - Chris Palmer
Wide Receivers - Mike Sullivan
Running Backs - Jerald Ingram
Tight Ends - Mike Pope
Offensive Line - Mike Munchak (Tennessee)
Assistant Offensive Line - Frank Verducci (Notre Dame)
Offensive Quality Control - Geep Chryst (Carolina)
Defensive Coordinator - John Fox (Carolina)
Defensive Line - Mike Wauffle
Linebackers - Richard Smith (Carolina)
Secondary/Corners - Peter Giunta
Secondary/Safeties - David Merrit
Defensive Quality Control - Sam Mills III (Carolina)
Special Teams Coordinator - Brian Polian (Notre Dame)
Special Teams Assistant - Jeff Rogers (Carolina)
Strength and Conditioning - Steve Watterson (Tennessee)
Assistant Strength and Conditioning - Markus Paul
