Giants could dump Jacobs?
part of an article from http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/giants/2010/01/30/2010-01-30_new_york_giants_offseason_priorities.html
SALARY DUMPS
With no salary cap, there are no cap ramifications to unloading a big contract, which means the Giants would be free to cut ties with the likes of DT Rocky Bernard (three years, $9.1 million left, but none of it guaranteed) with no future penalities. They could also be tempted to do the same with injury-prone RB Brandon Jacobs (three years, $13.2 million left). With most of his $3.65 million salary in 2010 guaranteed, though, they'll most likely keep him.

Personally, I am not in favour of getting rid of Jacobs, I think Jacobs is a unique/dominant talent in the NFL.
I can see it making sense from a salary cap management point of view.
The only way it could happen imho would be if a team offered a really good trade.
If a team like in major need of a RB such as Houston, San Diego, Chicago, Seattle or New England offered a 2nd round pick for Jacobs, I think Reese would give it serious consideration.
In any other scenario Jacobs will be a Giant in 2010

Agree, don't see Jacobs going anywhere.
The thing with Jacobs is that he should be used in a multi back rotation. Much like we did with Ward, Bradshaw, and Jacobs.
Keeping these guys fresh is key. I think we can get back to that with a guy like Gartrell Johnson getting some touches.

We could just dump the whole roster and start from scratch if we wanna.
