Both Ryans and CB Dunta Robinson [who is dissatisfied with getting franchise tagged] have missed the team off-season workouts.
Ryans, the former defensive rookie of the year in 2006, was selected to one Pro-Bowl and recorded 395 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 2 INT's during his 3-year career.
Ryans already rejected a Texans offer for a long-term extension, he’s scheduled to make $1.39 million next season.
Both Ryans and Robinson are key to the Texans defense, whick probably makes them a priority heading into the 2009 regular season.
Texans owner Bob McNair recently said he is tired of his team not making the playoffs, working on new deals for Ryans and Robinson will definitely help get the team there.
