Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan confirmed that second-rounder Clint Sintim will start at strong-side linebacker.
Sintim will also be moved into a pass-rushing role on third-downs. Along with free agent acquisition Michael Boley on the weak side, the Giants have done a nice job upgrading their linebacking crew around Antonio Pierce. Danny Clark will move to a reserve role this season.

It seems Pierce, Boley and Perhaps Sintim are pencilled in as starters

The front office is very high on Kehl and Goff

DeOssie is a stud special teamer and will very likely have a roster spot (instead of a traditional long snapper)


what does this mean for Clark, Wilkinson and Blackburn?

Does Kehl fit at MLB or WLB? what about Goff?

any thoughts?

I'd hate to lose Blackburn, every time he's in there he's played well, not a physical specimen but plays big and fast.

How many LBs do the giants usually keep? 7? If that then two gotta go, one I'd guess would be Clark, the other I don't know; I'd hate to lose any truthfully.

I can see the Giants keeping 7 LBs on the roster, one of which being DeOssie in a special teams role. That is very much in keeping with what has happened in recent years.

I prefer Blackburn over Clark, but Clark is the incumbent at SLB and can legitimately start if needed wheras Blackburn is more of a backup (but valuable). If Wilkinson can stay healthy, he is a really good shot as well.

I have to think the front office will give Kehl, Goff and Sintim time to develop.
