    Possibilities for Giants DC

    * Perry Fewell, most recently the interim head coach of the Buffalo Bills
    * Bob Sutton, LB coach for the New York Jets
    * Kirk Olivadotti, LB coach for the Washington Redskins
    * Dom Capers, DC for the Green Bay Packers
    * George Edwards, LB coach for the Miami Dolphins
    * Also possible (but speculated by folks outside Giants organization): Romeo Crennel, Jerry Gray, Jim Haslett, Pepper Johnson

After Big Blue's "defense" gave up 44 points to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17, New York Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan's flight with the team has gone kerplunk.

As for his replacement, a rumor has gained a lot of momentum over the past few weeks that Dick Jauron -- the man fired as head coach of the Buffalo Bills this season -- is a strong favorite. Jauron served as Giants head coach Tom Coughlin's DC with the Jacksonville Jaguars. But according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News he's just one of many. A late entrant into the mix is Romeo Crennel, former Browns head coach, who is also thought to be drawing interest in Kansas City. Perry Fewell will get the first crack this week.
