Our 2010 LB corps
Here are some thoughts on our 2010 LB corp.
Firstly, we will likely not run a a Tampa 2; but I expect we will want LBs who are a bit faster than what we have had in recent years.
Boley is a good fit foe this style of play as is Kehl, Wilkinson and probably Goff
I think Pierce and Clark are gone.
I am not sure Sintim is a good fit though. I think he could be moved to a regular RDE in the rotation.
Ideally I would like to see a veteran like Dansby at SLB, although there are alot of good options in the draft
what are your thoughts?

Dansby would be a huge asset. He would fit a 3-4 or 4-3 defense. We could give opposing teams lots of different looks.
Draft best linebacker available at #15, add in Boley and Sintim and the Giants should have a nice LB corps for the next 4-5 years.

Re: Our 2010 LB corps
it looks like we will use some Tampa Cover 2, but perhaps not alot
I think Fewell will prefer more mobile LBers. Sintim is not a great fit in this system, but I do think he could develop into a decent pass rushing DE.
I also think Ross could move to FS and be used in a similar way that Jairus Byrd was used for the Bills this season. This will allow Phillips to move to SS and be used more in a playmaking role.
I would like to see Dansby brought in as a free agent (although he won't be cheap) and would be a great fit at SLB.
Draft Needs
A talented MLB, Angerer is my preference, but there are plenty of other options including McClain and Spikes. They will compete with Goff and Blackburn for the MLB start.
DT depth to develop for the future. Williams is nice, but I am intrigued by Tyson Alualu (California), he could be an interesting option. Plus there is the usual suspects.
CB and S depth. Plenty of options including players like Brandon Ghee, Syd'Quan Thompson, Javier Arenas, Amari Spievey, Kyle Wilson (CB) and Earl Thomas, Taylor Mays, Nate Allen, Chad Jones, Reshad Jones, Myron Lewis, Darrell Stuckey, Myron Rolle (S)
My thoughts on the defense would be something like
DE: Tuck, Umenyiora, Kiwanuka, Sintim
DT: Canty, Cofield, Alford, Rookie
SLB: Dansby, Kehl
MLB: Rookie, Goff, Blackburn
WLB: Boley, Rookie/Wilkinson
CB: Webster, Thomas, Rookie, B Johnson, Dockery
SS: Phillips, M Johnson, Rouse
FS: Ross, Rookie
"I like to run a defense that's multiple. Can I say that?" Fewell said. "Multiple, fundamentally sound, (with) good tacklers and aggressive. Coverage-wise, it can be flexible. It can be Tampa Cover-2, it can be a lot of different things. But I want to be very flexible and aggressive in what we do. I have to find out what the talent level allows me to do. I think we take advantage of what our talent level does. And if it's more of an attacking style, blitz style of defense, that's what we'll do."

I think Dansby will be very high on our shopping list as the FA market is very thin. The Cardinals have said they are not going to franchise him, but he will be expensive (but worth it). I actually think Dansby is a better fit at SLB rather than MLB; ironically it would be a similar style of role to Lavar Arrington.
I am not sold on Sintim, he did not play well in space this year plus Fewell is likely to want more mobile LBs.

Re: Our 2010 LB corps
yeah, I'm not so sure neither if I want Sintim covering tight ends at this point.
If we drafted Dansby we could play some 3-4 with Sintim as a rushing LB, one of his strengths in college.
I think Kehl with his athleticism could be of value with some 3-4 formations also.
However, I'd like to see the Giants stay with a 4-3 base defense.

Re: Our 2010 LB corps
frankly I prefer Kiwanuka at SLB over Sintim
but neither is going to happen. Fewell has hinted that we will use some elements of a Tampa Cover 2, which means more mobile athletic LBs - that isn't Sintim.
Actually I think Chase Blackburn could be on the outer as well - he isn't fast or athletic enough.
Dansby would have to be signed as a free agent, but he would be a good fit. I am not sure he is the leader we need and I think his best spot would be at SLB - playing outside Tuck would be really nasty.
We know Fewell is going to mix it up alot, it will be interesting to see how it unfolds.
