Giants mock draft idea
of ok the top of my head, here is a 1 minute mock draft idea
trade: Giants trade Osi for an extra 2nd round pick (perhaps late)
Like it or not I think Osi is on the way out
1. SS Taylor Mays, USC (6-3, 230, 4.45)
He may not be a ball hawk, but he is big, very fast and very physical. Mays will eventually slide into SS with phillips at FS. This plays huge dividends to our run defense as well as our coverage packages
[2009: 12 GP, 96 TT (48 solo, 48 ast), 1 Int (0 yds) 1 FR (0 yd)]
2a. MLB Brandon Spikes, Florida (6-3, 258, 4.75)
Spikes is the MLB to develop for the future. There are a ton of good LBs, particularly pass rushers, which will push Spikes down.
[2009: 12 GP, 68 TT (36 solo, 32 ast), 6.5 TFL (22yds), 3 sacks (16yds), 2 Int (46 yds, 2 TD), 3 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 FR (1 yd), 1 FF]
2b. WLB Navarro Bowman, Penn St (6-1, 232, 4.65)
This is a best player available pick. The Giants do need to over haul our LB corps and Bowman is a legitimate playmaker.
[2009: 11 GP, 93 TT (52 solo, 41 ast), 17.0 TFL (60yds), 3 sacks (15yds), 2 Int (86 yds, TD), 3 PBU, 1 QBH, 2 FR (91 yds, TD)]
3. DE Lindsay Witten, Connecticut (6-5, 260, 4.75)
Witten is a legitimate edge rusher who can get to the QB to add to our rotation and develop for the future
[2009: 13 GP, 45 TT (29 solo, 16 ast), 14.0 TFL (84yds), 11.5 sacks (73yds), 1 QBH, 2 FF]
4. DT Mike Neal, Purdue (6-4, 300, 5.00)
Quick and strong, Neal gives us a good 4th DT to add to the rotation and develop for the future; he can make plays behond the line of scrimmage.
[2009: 12 GP, 35 TT (20 solo, 15 ast), 11.5 TFL (38yds), 5.5 sacks (25yds), 2 FR (0yds), 1 FF]
5. CB Myron Lewis, Vanderbilt (6-2, 205, 4.50)
Lewis lacks elite speed, but he is a very physical CB with good ball skills and great intangibles. Lewis upgrades our CB depth as well as special teams.
[2009: 11 GP, 41 TT (26 solo, 15 ast), 2.5 TFL (4yds), 4 Int (50yds), 8 PBU]
6. SS Barry Church, Toledo (6-2, 219, 4.55)
With the incredible depth in the safty class, Church is excellent value here, giving solid depth at SS as well as special teams play.
[2009: 12 GP, 98 TT (57 solo, 41 ast), 8.5 TFL (25yds), 2.5 sacks (12yds), 1 Int (4 yds), 2 PBU, 6 QBH, 1 FR (0 yds), 1 FF, 3 Blk Kicks]
7. P Tyson Mesko, Michigan (6-5, 231, 4.75)
A stong leg punter with a booming kick and great hangtimne to replace Feagles and help us win the field position battle.

Re: Giants mock draft idea
it may be a quick and nasty mock, but I actually like this one a fair bit.
Our biggest priority by far is our defense, our offense is surprisingly solid and deepo with talent.
As far as turning around our defense, it would be not unlike what we have done at WR; bringing in god talent and developing from within
I don't think we are going to be hugely active -in free agency
This isn't flashy, but I would be pretty comfortable with this kind of roster going into the season.
