Pick a Player
Here we go.
Touchdown Blue just inherited the rights to a brand new NFL franchise:
Suggest two or more current players at any one position.
Then, others and yourself will vote for which player is the best.
(you don't have to choose players solely based on stats)
At the end of the season, we'll see what kind of fantasy team we can collectively put together.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning?
add your own or vote for one of these.

Re: Pick a Player
Eli Manning
He is younger than Peyton and Brady
I would rather have someone like Eli who is a very good QB with ice in his veins rather than a gunslinger.
Aaron Rogers is a close #2, Sam Bradford would be my #3

Bradford may be a good one.
It's sad that he landed wrong on his already bad shoulder yesterday. I had a chance to watch that game yesterday and see a lot of potential in Bradford.
who you like Vin?

Re: Pick a Player
I would add Flacco and Matt Ryan to the conversation. Flacco has been one of the hottest and mistake free QBs of recent weeks and when you talk about ice in his veins, Pete, there really isn't many better than Matty Ice.
Although my vote would go to either Peyton Manning or Philip Rivers. Between the two age is the biggest difference. Peyton is 34 and Rivers is 28. If we are building a franchise I would want the younger of the two. Even though Peyton is at the top of his game, has shown no signs of decline, and is definitely the best in the league. I would still go with Rivers. What he has done so far this year has been incredible. No running game, an average oline, and no real threat at receiver besides Gates he still manages to be the leagues leading passer, leads in TDs, and has the best QB rating at 102.6. But it wasn't this year that sold me on Rivers. In 2007, he played the entire AFC championship game with a torn ACL ultimately putting his career at risk. He's an aggressive hot headed leader who plays with emotion and can fire up his teammates. He has the killer instinct to put teams away. He fights when his back is against the wall with a never quit attitude. He's cocky but sure of himself and he demands the respect from his teammates.
So, Todd, Philip Rivers final answer.

Re: Pick a Player
well thought out answer on Rivers. Still not a fan of his though lol.
Do you guys think we ought to just go with a "win now" team instead of building a franchise?
It might be easier to come up with a team.

Re: Pick a Player
Good points, I would perhaps go with Matt Ryan, I forgot him. But I do like Eli as well.
I am not such a fan of Rivers. There is no doubting his exceptional abilities, but personally I like QBs that ooze leadership which isn't Rivers, Romo or Brees imho
