Bryan Kehl listed week to week, finger surgery
Linebacker Bryan Kehl, who has been outstanding on special teams this season and was one of the unsung heroes of the Giants’ win in Kansas City on Sunday, underwent surgery late today on a fractured left index finger. It’s not clear when he hurt his finger, but he didn’t miss any plays due to injury in the game.
Kehl, of course, recovered both the fumbled kickoff at the beginning of the game that quickly tilted momentum in the Giants’ direction, and the Chiefs’ surprise onside kick at the start of the second half.
According to the Giants, the surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan and Kehl’s status listed as “week to week” - - though it seems a pretty good bet that he won’t be out there this week.
If you’re scoring at home, that’s two surgeries for Giants weak-side linebackers today. Kehl might have been considered to start for starter Michael Boley, who is out a month after knee surgery. More likely, Chase Blackburn was going to slide over from the middle, just like he did in the opener.
With two weak-side linebackers down, though, the Giants’ defense is suddenly looking very thin again, especially if rookie LB Clint Sintim - - who has played mostly the strong side since the summer - - can’t make a very quick recovery from a strained groin that has bothered him all season long.

And the Giants injured ship keeps slowly sinking. When will enough be enough?

I heard about this yesterday, but I was waiting for confirmation from a reliable source.
I don't see it as too much of an issue at this point.
Blackburn is solid and there is still Wilkinson, who has all the ability and has shown flashes
plus we have Goff who can fill ina t SLB if needed,
It isn't a major injury, but it is more important that everyone is healthy for the games down the stretch
