Reese: Maybe Jacobs should get 200 carries

INDIANAPOLIS –- Jerry Reese agrees with Tom Coughlin that the Giants need to get Brandon Jacobs the ball more.

Jacobs averaged just 9.1 carries a game last season and still rushed for 823 yards and nine touchdowns.

“I think Brandon ended up with (147) carries, maybe he should be a 200-carry guy,” Reese said. “We gave (Ahmad) Bradshaw probably too many carries (276). He’s a little tough guy, maybe too tough for his own good. You like that about them, but you give those little guys too many carries, at the end of the season, you can start to see them slow down.”

So make it more 50/50.
You give Jacobs too many carries and his leggs take too much of a beaten, that's been proven.
There's also nothing wrong with adding in a third back much like what the Giants did with Bradshaw in '07.
They should have given Ware a few more carries last year imo.

Maybe we'll draft a RB as our future, let Bradshaw walk, and run the shit outta Jacobs next season then release him if he doesn't produce or gets injured. He should definitely receive more carries. No question he was the more productive back.

Possible, but I think the front office really likes Bradshaw as well, and will try and keep him.

If we could get a bulldozer FB like Leach and a quality blocking TE, Jacobs could really excel.
