Re: Cofield agrees to terms with Skins
I liked Barry but there was no way we could've kept him.
We have Marvin Austin and Linval Joseph to take his place.
Wish him good luck with the Skins.

BTW: Its a 6 year deal worth 36 million and 12 guaranteed. Stealing our last good young DT worked out well for them last time. Griffen part 2.

That is quite reasonable, and going by Cofield's comments, we could have paid a little less to keep him too.
I have exacly the same feeling as I did with Cornelius Griffen
At least this time we have Joseph and Austin in the house.

Good for Cofield. He'll be a good one for them.
Much like the Griffen story though. Solid but I don't think he'll ever be a big time threat to us. Unless of course we don't get some more 0-line help.

MG is reporting that his agent said we offered a contract and put up a fight. Two things I get from this:
-We wanted to drive the price up on the Skins. Never let division rivals steal your guys easy. We did this to the Cowboys and Eagles a few years back with Leonard Davis and Kevin Curtis.
-We aren't comfortable with Benard and Austin at UT. Benard has yet to restructure, we asked him to yesterday. Tommie Harris could be in play.

Tommie Harris is washed up, I think we are fine at DT and we just wanted to drive the price up. We have 4 guys to play DT and at times we slide Tuck inside so we can have 3 DE on the field.
We'll be more than fine with Barry gone.

Also, the Skins and Cowboys are fighting over Cullen Jenkins.
The Skins made a hard push at Santonio Holmes, even offered more loot than the Jets but Holmes with stay a Jet and the Redskins end up with Stallworth instead.
Speaking of the Jets they are in a fight for Asomugha with the 49ers and Houston Texans. Its believed the Bucs backed out and the Cowboys could potentially enter.
