Giants sign safety, Derrick Martin
From Scout.com
The New York Giants have signed former Green Bay Packers safety Derrick Martin to a one-year contract, according to his agent, Brad Cicala.
Martin is a former Baltimore Ravens sixth-round draft pick from Wyoming.
Martin is an athletic special-teams standout who spent the past two seasons with Green Bay.
Martin was traded to the Packers in exchange for offensive tackle Tony Moll.
Besides excelling on special teams, Martin is a versatile reserve defensive back.

A year in Dom Capers’ scheme should help, because he was a major disappointment when thrust in the lineup last season. On the plus side, he finished second on the team with 21 special-teams tackles despite missing two full games and parts of two others with injuries.
